Tech the Night Away - Pint of Science 2026
Samet is speaking at this year's Pint of Science festival as part of Tech the Night Away, an evening of accessible talks about technologies making a real difference to people's lives. Samet's talk, "How Much Insulin Are You Making?", explores a question that matters enormously for nearly half a million people in the UK living with type 1 diabetes. One Walk Manchester - Fundraising for Breakthrough T1D
Our group is taking part in One Walk Manchester, a fundraising walk in support of Breakthrough T1D, the charity we collaborate with for our research at Lancaster University. Walking for Breakthrough T1D is a way of giving something back to the organisation, making that research possible, and to nearly half a million people in the UK living with T1D who stand to benefit from it. If you'd like to support us, every donation goes directly towards funding type 1 diabetes research.


Materials Research Exchange 2026
Our research Dr Sam Rust recently represented the Şahin Group at the Materials Research Exchange 2026 held at the Business Design Centre in London. This annual flagship event showcases advanced materials research from the UK, hosted by UKRI, sponsored by the Henry Royce Institute and supported by EPSRC.
