Sahin Group was established in 2019 and currently going through a transition to Lancaster University School of Engineering. The group has 2 PhD students working in the previous lab in Türkiye and is restructuring itself in Lancaster. We will share more of our new and existing members soon.

Dr. Samet Şahin

Lecturer in Chemical Engineering

School of Engineering | Lancaster University

Samet Sahin was born in Ordu, Türkiye where he lived until he left his hometown for university. He completed his BSc and MSc degrees at Hacettepe University, Türkiye. He then moved to the UK for his PhD and postdoctoral studies in Chemical Engineering at Newcastle University. He moved back to Türkiye to start his academic journey leading up to his most recent post at Lancaster University as a Lecturer. He was a Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University in 2021. Samet is also a former national Taekwondo team member of Türkiye and a European Silver Medallist in Taekwondo. He and his team are trying to solve problems associated with human health and the environment through biochemical science and engineering.
